The Future

Posted September 16, 2009

by S. G

Yes, I realize that's the title of a Leonard Cohen song. However, I'd like to make two predictions.

Two things I feel will become crucial for the music business within a few years are Internet radio and mobile data communication.

When 'Net radio is available in cars, elevators, shops at the mall, in every room of your house, etc. what we've lost will come roaring back. What Clear Channel destroyed will rise again.

And when you are able to send full-featured video-and-audio files from mobile device to mobile device -- free from even a laptop computer -- the possibillities for music marketing and licensing will explode.

Thoughts, anyone?
