Licensing Administration Coordinator

New York City (Soho)

JOB SUMMARY:
Downtown Music Publishing is seeking a coordinator in the administration department to assist with royalties, licensing and copyright registrations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare, track and analyze royalty statements and other financial reporting from record labels,
music copyright societies, sub-publisher(s) and third party licensees.
• Update and maintain mechanical licensing databases Worldwide.
• Register song copyrights and sound recordings with the United States Copyright Office.
• Apply for and execute mechanical licenses directly with publishers and via Harry Fox for releases from our label partners.

REQUIREMENTS:
Prior experience in a royalties and/or licensing capacity required. Experience with Counterpoint/Music Maestro royalties systems a huge plus. Applicant must have strong communication and organizational skills and have the ability to multi-task and organize.

Downtown Music Publishing is a full-service music publisher and copyright administrator with offices in New York and Los Angeles. The Company’s diverse writer roster includes the likes of Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe fame, British writer/producer Trevor Horn and Afro-Beat legend Femi Kuti as well as many writers/artists signed to affiliate labels Downtown Records and Mercer Street Records, such as Cold War Kids, Santigold and Carla Bruni. DMP now publishes over 8,000 song copyrights, recorded by artists ranging from soul legends Aretha Franklin and the Isley Brothers to pop stars Miley Cyrus and Leona Lewis. The Company also offers a complete line of administration services to boutique publishers, film studios and digital media outlets including Check Your Pulse, The Film Department and RCRD LBL.
