Warner/Chappell Music has an exciting career opportunity for an Administrator in our Copyright department.  This position will be in our Los Angeles, CA location.  This is an exciting opportunity for the ideal candidate who strives to excel in their creative music publishing career with one of the top Music Publishers of all time!

Responsibilities


The Gig:-  Evaluates and answers general inquiries related to their area of specialty that are received. -  Researches and responds to inquiries related to claims, counter-claims, and split-disputes, and settles counterclaims.-  Coordinates and interacts with representatives of the Legal, Licensing, Royalties and Finance Departments as well as, the Harry Fox Agency, BMI, ASCAP, record companies, and the general public regarding copyright issues.-  Handles label copy, lyric reprint, and copyright notice requests. -  Handles independent projects received for outside sources.  Including evaluation of song rights, termination research, and identifying catalogs available for acquisition and or admin.-  Performs independent detailed analysis of back catalog repertoire, in addition to, identifying works that need re-registration w/ PROS.-  Must be able to read and understand materials and documents and have the ability to recognize and extract critical data and information.

Skills Required

Our ideal candidate for this position may possess, but is not limited to the following attributes:

- Knowledge of US Copyright law required
- Self-starter with excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Display ability to be resourceful through analysis and research
- Computer literate with advanced knowledge of MS Office.
- Ability to handle diverse job responsibilities and multiple assignments.
- High School Level education or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 1 to 2 years of business administration, and/or copyright administration, preferably in a music publishing company, preferred.

Having satisfactory equivalent of education, training and experience in related fields and/or educational disciplines sufficient to qualify for requirements of the position.
