Latin American Music Awards 2016: Idina Menzel, Franco de Vita, La Santa Cecilia & more set to perform

October 3, 2016

Just days away from the second annual Latin American Music Awards, award-winning singer and actress Idina Menzel is confirmed to perform at the awards ceremony on Thursday (Oct. 6).

The chart-topping artist joins a long list of performers set for the night including Pitbull, CNCO, Franco de Vita, Sofía Reyes, ChocQuib Town, Miguel Bosé, La Santa Cecilia, Gente de Zona and Jesse & Joy.

Shaila Durcal, Lila Downs and Aida Cuevas will take the stage to honor and pay tribute to the late Mexican singer Juan Gabriel. Durcal, Downs and Cuevas will be accompanied by Gabriel's longtime mariachi band Mariachi De Mi Tierra in a musical homage directed by producer and orchestra director Juan Magallanes.

Banda MS and Yandel lead this year's nominees with six nods each. Other nominees include J Balvin, Enrique Iglesias and Los Plebes de Ariel Camacho.

The 2016 Latin AMAs are set to take place at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. The ceremony, hosted by Mexican singer and actress Lucero, will broadcast live on Telemundo.
