Copyright Royalty Board Reopens Comment Period for Proposed Rates and Terms for Certain Uses of Nondramatic Musical Works

November 4, 2021

On October 25, the Copyright Royalty Judges reopened the comment period for thirty (30) days regarding its proposed rule on the rates and terms applicable from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2027, for the section 115 statutory license for making and distributing phonorecords of nondramatic musical works. The Judges reopened the comment period for a second time due to the submission of additional material – in particular, a memorandum of understanding filed by settling parties. Comments are due no later than November 22, 2021.
