MUSIC AND MONEY IN THE DIGITAL AGE

The panelists will discuss recent trends and developments in the music industry, including the latest means being used to digitally deliver music and the money it is generating. The panel will include representatives from a major record company, a legitimate pay download web site, an internet radio web site, a ringtone company, and a high school student. With Apple launching its $.99 download service for Mac users, Universal selling its stake in Pressplay to Roxio, Listen.com reducing its download price to $.79, Live365?s internet radio network attracting 3 million listeners a month, YourMobile distributing 150 million ringtones to mobile phones in 85 countries, and high school students downloading music through illegal peer-to-peer sites, which methods of distribution will survive, which will evolve, and where will the money come from in the digital age?
