Join us for our annual holiday event featuring highly successful songwriters who have written songs recorded by Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, Luis Miguel, Squirrel Nut Zippers and more, including Grammy and Oscar award winners.  Hear them perform songs, share stories, and perhaps tell us their "secrets."

Oscar-winning actor/director/writer/musician Billy Bob Thornton began playing drums at the age of 12, eventually joining a Creedence Clearwater Revival cover band in high school. After college he spent time in local bands playing colleges and high schools throughout Arkansas and Texas. After hitting it big in Hollywood, Thornton decided to return to his first love, music, and record an album. The dark and personal Private Radio arrived in 2001 on the Universal imprint Uptown. Produced and co-written with country legend Marty Stuart, it featured session work from some of Nashville's finest. Sanctuary released Edge of the World in 2003, followed by Hobo, released on the Big Deal label in 2005. Thornton has also appeared on albums by Earl Scruggs and Warren Zevon.

Kara Dio Guardi's recent credits include songwriting on "Walk Away" (Kelly Clarkson), "Ain't No Other Man" (Christina Aguilera), "Rich Girl" (Gwen Stefani), and "Pieces Of Me" (Ashlee Simpson). Kara DioGuardi is a Los Angeles-based artist, and is one of the industry's most highly sought after songwriter/producers whose songs and album productions are continuously topping the charts and winning awards world-wide. Kara currently has a catalog of more than 50 songs that have appeared on multi-platinum selling albums In 2005, Kara formed Platinum Weird, a rock group with Dave Stewart of Eurythmics fame. Platinum Weirds debut single Happiness is due to be released by Interscope Records this spring.

Edgar Cortazar's credits include "Vuelve" (Luis Miguel), "Aun Sigues Siendo Mia" (Conjunto Primavera) Latin Grammy winner for Best Regional Mexican Song. Edgar Cortazar & a modern poet who's creations have touched the heart of superstars such as Luis Miguel, with whom he collaborated as a co-author on three songs of his multi platinum Grammy nominated "33" album and one song in his recently released and also multi-platinum RIAA certified "Grandes Exitos. Edgar Cortazars Songs have been recorded by multiple artists such as: Luis Miguel, Olga Ta?on, Conjunto Primavera, Pablo Montero, Graciela Beltran, La Mafia, Grupo Montez de Durango, Horoscopos de Durango, Banda Machos, Salomon Robles, Chicos De Barrio, No-Pals, Alex Arellano, Grupo Prezisso, Priscilla y Sus Balas de Plata, Witchy's Band, Los Reyes Del Camino, Ke-Zafados and Grupo La Onda among others in the first two years of his exclusive administration agreement with Warner-Tamerlane Music Corp.

Many will remember Tom Maxwell as the key songwriter for triple platinum selling artist Squirrel Nut Zippers. Maxwell has turned his talents from hit records to film and TV music creating tunes for use around the globe. Salon.com voted his current collaboration with Rickie Lee Jones the second best political ad of the season. Other highlights include a Heinz commercial in Europe, make up commercials for Kanebo in Japan, recent high profile licenses of their music for FOX and ABC they also have the theme song to the #1 hit TV show in Turkey of all places. Maxwell has become part of a core group of go to writers for the music dept and below are some examples of how we have used their music. For Happily Never After they collaborated with recent #1 vocalists Holly Brook and #1 artist Jaron Lowenstein (Evan & Jaron) to create music for the most prominent montage. In Deliver Us From Evil, they turned around outstanding music for key scenes in 24 hours. In upcoming Fido their songs are used within the film and the end title, they wrote the main title theme and laid the musical bed for Lifetime's Lovespring International and contributed a track to the highly praised Weeds soundtrack.
