Music Clearance in the New Millennium

Join us as top music licensing professionals discuss the changes in negotiations and the rights requested for synchronization licensing.  Licensing requests have become more intricate over the last few years -- from all-media to options, internet to video on demand, most favored nations and step deals, music supervisors and licensing professionals are requesting everything and anything.  We will explore the newest variety of media and licensing requests including the intricacies of the deal.

Before moving to Twentieth Century Fox, Ellen Ginsburg was with Home Box Office for 16 years as a Business Affairs Executive groundbreaking the deals for the first HBO Films, series and specials coming out of the network. She was lured to Fox Music as head of Music Clearance in 1997 clearing for film and soundtrack. Ellen has had the pleasure of working on, to name a few films, Moulin Rouge, Devil Wears Prada, Bulworth, Simpsons, Alvin and the Chipmunks and Hope Floats and is currently finishing What Stays in Vegas starring Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher and Baz Luhrmann's newest film, Australia.
