Entertainment Business Law Seminar @ CMJ

Friday, October 19, 2012
CMJ Music Marathon
New York City

CMJ and the Entertainment, Arts & Sports Law Section of the New York State Bar Association, in association with New York University School of Law, Vandenberg & Feliu LLP, Holland & Knight LLP, Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz, Prager and Fenton LLP, and MasurLaw will host the all-day Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) and Continuing Professional Education (CPE) accredited Entertainment Business Law Seminar on October 19, 2012, at NYU’s Helen and Martin Kimmel Center in the spectacular Richard L. Rosenthal Pavilion.

Now more than ever, the entertainment industry has been transformed by the rapid convergence of technology, shifting business models, and ever-changing trends within a fickle marketplace. While the technological edges of the industry move at a rapid pace, the legal framework inevitably remains steps behind and to some, imperfect in its solutions. This series of CMJ/EASL panels is designed to address a wide variety of issues facing entertainment industry professionals as they move forward in the digital age and confront new and exciting challenges.

Lawyers attending the seminar will receive up to 6 New York State MCLE credits, consisting of 5 in “Professional Practice” and 1 in “Ethics” — all of which may be accepted in other jurisdictions, as well. Accountants attending the seminar will receive 7 New York State CPE credits, consisting of 6 in “Specialized Knowledge” and 1 in “Accounting & Auditing.”
