NYC Pitch Session Part 2

Our May meeting is the follow up to our initial meeting on April 15th, where writers received the creative brief summarized below from Richard Stumpf, President, Imagem Music.

Anyone who wishes to have their songs considered will now have until May 13th, one week prior to our follow up meeting to submit.  Richard and his associates will filter the submissions to a top list of songs that would potentially work. The writers of those top  songs  will be  the special guests at this second, session where the  label A&Rs will critique their submissions. This second session will also be open to others who care to learn  about this process.

AIMP A&R Pitch Sheet
Michelle Branch -http://michellebranch.com
(Warner Bros.) – Adam Herzog (A&R)

Modern folk pop with strong female perspective. Reference sonically The Lumineers or verse one of Imagine Dragons’ “It’s Time,” Sheryl Crow’s “Soak Up The Sun” all the way to “Every Day Is A Winding Road,” Feist’s “I Feel It All,” and KT Tunstall’s “Suddenly I See.” Modern rhythms matched with an acoustic identity, riffs, and straighter pop vocal hooks. Lyrics should have an edge & a strong sense of self with an undertone of humility.

Brit Smith -http://interscope.com/#!/britsmith
(Interscope) – William Derella (Manager)

Straight ahead top 40 pop; can have elements of dance and urban a la production you might hear from Timbaland or Stargate. Reference “Primadonna” by Marina and the Diamonds and “Lights” by Ellie Goulding.

Action Bronson -http://www.actionbronson.com/
(Atlantic) – Riggs Morales (A&R)

A throwback to hard edge days on NYC rap, circa mid-late 90’s – looking for something left field but rooted in hip hop sensibility (think Miguel’s “All I Want Is You”). Looking for something that can be a hit with an alternative crowd as well, but keep him in a hip hop space (i.e. Beastie Boys’ “Intergalactic”). Avoid samples if possible.

*Please submit one MP3 per artist to AIMP@Imagem.com by May 13th. Please include lyrics attached as a word doc. In the title of the email include your name and the name of the artist you are submitting for.
