Making Rumours: The Inside Story of the Classic Fleetwood Mac Album with Ken Caillat

We welcome special guest Ken Caillat, the renowned engineer and producer of the Grammy-award winning, classic 1977 Fleetwood Mac album “Rumours."  Ken will be discussing the making of this album, sharing behind the scenes stories, accompanied with personal anecdotes and “outtakes” from the making of this album. 

Ken will be signing copies of his book, Making Rumours: The Inside Story of the Classic Fleetwood Mac Album, which can be purchased after the panel.  Each book sale will entitle the purchaser to a raffle ticket and a chance to win:

  • The Original Album with the B Side  “Silver Springs”
  • 12 previously unreleased Live recordings from the 1977 tour

Ken Caillat, producer, engineer and Grammy nominated for Colbie Caillat’s “Breakthrough” CD and Grammy winner for Fleetwood Mac “Rumours” album. He has recently opened a production facility in West Los Angeles near Santa Monica inside the world famous Village Recorder Studios. Some of Ken’s other clients include Colbie Caillat’s "All of You" album, Paul McCartney, Joni Mitchell, Warren Zevon, The Rambles, Herbie Hancock, Pink Floyd, Christine McVie and Michael Jackson. Ken is in the process of starting his own artist development label, Sleeping Giant Music Group, to service the thousands of new artists appearing everyday that aren’t being signed by the big labels.

Phil Gallo is a senior correspondent for Billboard magazine, where he writes about the music industry as it relates to film and television. Co-author of the book “Record Store Days,” Gallo has written about music for more than 25 years.
