The CCC and SCL present: Breaking The Sound Barrier - Women In Film, TV and Live Production Music


Our panel will take an in-depth look at the role of women composers in the world of entertainment, including a discussion of the opportunities and obstacles for a successful career with a highly distinguished group of composers.

- Jonathan David Neal, composer and Recording Secretary of the SCL
- Eric Palmquist, President, Recognition Songs and Past President of the CCC

- Miriam Cutler, Emmy nominated composer best known for her work in documentaries, most recently The Hunting Ground. She has also co-produced two Grammy-nominated live jazz albums, and is a longtime SCL board member.
- Lolita Ritmanis, ten time Emmy nominated composer. A protégée of Shirley Walker (one of the first well-recognized female film composers) her credits include Batman Beyond, Spectacular Spider-Man and Teen Titans.
- Adryan Russ, composer and lyricist who writes for theater, film, television and recordings. Her work has played off-Broadway at New York’s Cherry Lane as well as theaters across the country and in Europe. She also serves on the board of the SCL.
- Starr Parodi, composer and pianist whose work includes TV, film and trailers for such Hollywood blockbusters as James Bond, Mission Impossible & Harry Potter.

Students must show College ID at the door (if paying at the member rate)

Dinner includes:

Appetizer: French Salad with butter lettuce, frisee, watercress, french beans, oven roasted tomato, goat cheese quenelle, black olive crouton and champagne vinaigrette

Your Choice of Entree:
Vegetable Lasagna with sauteed spinach and fresh marinara
Atlantic Salmon with citrus sauce
Pan Roasted Chicken with lemon herb sauce

Side: Roasted Rosemary Potatoes

Dessert: White Chocolate Mousse tower with fresh berries and raspberry coulis

Walk up guests are welcome, but may not be served their first choice of meal.
