AIMP PANELS

April 18, 2017

Time: 5:30 - 7:00PM

AIMP 2017 Creative Panel Sessions - Part 2

This is a reminder that Part 2 of the 2017 Creative Panel Sessions will be held on Tuesday April 18th, 2017, again at Interface NYC (140 West 30th Street, between 6th & 7th Avenues – entrance to the left of Till & Sprocket).  Note that you must register for this second part of the program even if you attended the first part.

The cut-off date for song submissions is TODAY, Friday April 14th 2017 (four days prior to the panel presentation).

Thanks to everyone who attended the first part of the AIMP Creative Panels for 2017 at Interface NYC on March 8th. We’ve gotten great feedback on the event so far.

If anyone wishes to participate, but couldn’t attend the first panel, send an email to: aimp@synchtank.net and we’d be happy to send you written instructions on how to submit songs. We’ll be standing by to walk you through the process and help with the technical aspects of putting tracks to picture.

At the first panel, we reviewed two spots, an Under Armour commercial featuring Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors, and a scene from HBO’s hit new comedy series Divorce, featuring Sarah Jessica Parker. The music producers & supervisors on those projects gave the participants the exact same creative brief they were given for the two spots. Each spot has been posted to SynchTank™, and participants were shown the process for uploading and putting tracks to picture.

There’s only one day left (see above) for participants to select a song for each scene (either selected or composed for the spot, entirely up to you) that you feel best meet the specific needs of the spots given the creative briefs.

At the second panel (April 18th, 2017), we'll select a short-list of the best submissions and critique them for you in real time, with Mike Ladman (Music Producer - Droga5), Ryan Barkan (Music Producer - Droga5), Stephanie Diaz-Matos (Music Supervisor - The Get Down) & Michael Hill (Music Supervisor - Divorce) giving you feedback based on all the criteria discussed during the first panel. We'll discuss how well the choices meet the creative needs of the spot, how the lyrics, melody, arrangement and production work to picture, and whether or not the music choices represent the right marriage of visual and sound to make the spot a success. The best submissions in each category (existing song, original score & original song) will win a one-on-one lunch with our esteemed panelists. If there aren’t enough selections in each category (existing song, original score & original song), we’ll pick the top three best submissions overall for the prize.

Special thanks to our event sponsor

And to our new exclusive NY Chapter bank sponsor for 2017
