ABOUT THE PROGRAM

New technologies have always exceeded the boundaries of copyright law, while existing doctrines have stretched to encompass novel and unprecedented scenarios. The next frontier will involve works created directly by computers, but the copyright implications are by no means clear. Are these original and creative works made by a human author or by independent artificial intelligence? To what scope of protection are they entitled, if any? This program presents a cutting-edge creative artist in dialogue with legal and technological specialists to introduce and explore this brave new world of creativity and protection.
