AIMP PANELS

February 7, 2019

Time: 11:30 - 1:45 p.m.

GRAMMY® Week panel with special guest David Israelite/NMPA

Join David Israelite for an update on what’s happening in Washington since the Music Modernization Act was signed into law last October.

The MMA creates an open, transparent database housing song copyright ownership information from which digital services can get a blanket license to play music. This “collective” will be the first of its kind in the U.S and will be run by songwriters and music publishers and paid for by digital services. David will discuss the ongoing industry-wide consensus submission to the U.S. Copyright Office as well as the timeline for designation.

In addition to the MMA and the MLC submission, he will provide an update on the CRB, ongoing settlements and many other important issues.
