CSUSA presents - The Music Modernization Act Featuring Dina LaPolt & Michelle Lewis

The Music Modernization Act

Featuring Dina LaPolt & Michelle Lewis

On October 11, 2018, the Music Modernization Act (MMA) was signed into law, a historic moment for the music industry.  This groundbreaking legislation would not have been possible without the efforts of Dina LaPolt and Michelle Lewis to protect the rights of songwriters in the digital streaming era.  At this event, Dina and Michelle will offer a comprehensive review of the MMA, covering everything from: how the MMA will impact songwriters and independent music publishers, the formation of the Mechanical Licensing Collective (MLC), new licenses issued by the MLC, overhaul of the royalty rate approval process, and the copyright office’s role in implementing these changes.
