AIMP Creators Experiment Part 1: Can't Stop, Won't Stop - Hip Hop Synch Writing Contest

For this year’s Creator’s Experiment, the AIMP has partnered with Splice, the world’s leading cloud-based music creation & collaboration platform, for a synch-focused hip hop writing contest. Hip hop, a multi-faceted art form born in the playgrounds and rec rooms of the Bronx in the mid-1970’s, has grown into a global cultural phenomenon. In the past five years, it’s also become a hot commodity in the music supervision community.

In Panel 1 (April 17th, 2019), we’ll explore the intersecting worlds of hip hop and synch with some of New York’s top supervisors, music producers, and publishers. They’ll also provide a brief for our songwriting contest that’s centered around real-time knowledge of the hip hop tracks that are causing the biggest creative waves in TV, Film, & Ads.

In Panel 2 (May 22nd, 2019), we’ll judge the top submissions during a live feedback session and award the winner with a free one year Premium subscription to Splice, with its vast array of studio services, creative community networking, sample-able sounds, plug-ins, tools and much more.
