The five-time Grammy-nominated Reggie Calloway has always displayed a unique ear for music, trends and business. It is no surprise that the music pioneer received a Grammy nomination for R&B Songwriter of the Year for the hit song “Casanova” in 1987. Reggie graduated from Kentucky State University with Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music. In 2011, he began providing financing for artists and publishers who needed a way to monetize their royalty assets. Reggie directed a sales team that was instrumental in bringing to the market thousands of song titles including the music of artists Whitney Houston, 50 Cents, John Legend, Will Smith, 3 Doors Down, J Lo, Lil Wayne, Justin Timberlake, Timbaland, Earth Wind and Fire, Travis Tritt, and more. Best known as the founder of the popular Techno-funk band, “Midnight Star”, Reggie led the group to international success writing, producing, and arranging a string of top mega #1 hits including “Operator”, “No Parking On The Dance Floor”, and “Freaka-zoid”. He has penned songs for Levert, (“Casanova”), Teddy Pendergrass (“Joy”), Gladys Knight, (“Love Overboard”) and Natalie Cole (“Jump Start My Heart”). One of Reggie’s original compositions entitled, “I’ll Be Good For You”, was featured on N’Sync’s 10X’s-platinum CD, “No Strings Attached”, the best-selling Album of the last decade.

Mathew Carvajal joined 23 Capital in 2018 and helped launch the Soros backed sports, music, and entertainment specially finance company’s U.S. presence. 23 Capital was originally founded in the U.K. as a European Football lender, and quickly expanded into the media sector with access to ~$2bn of private credit capital. Following the launch of the U.S. office, Carvajal led two significant transactions for the team totaling $375 million, establishing 23 Capital as a creative financier within the media space. In November 2018, Carvajal led a $125 million financing for Kobalt Music Group, and in May of 2018 he finalized a $250 million financing for Vice Media. Prior to joining 23 Capital, Carvajal spent 10+ years with J.P. Morgan’s entertainment industries group where he was engaged in the structuring, negotiation, and arranging of capital for leading media companies as well as emerging digital platforms. Areas of focus include syndicated and leveraged finance, private capital placements, and asset-backed securitizations. As the music industry has expanded over the last few years, Mr. Carvajal has led a number of transactions for music companies, including the sale of BMG Rights Management to Bertelsmann, the acquisition of Imagem Music by Concord Music Group, and Kobalt Music’s IP fund financing.

John Funge is CEO and Co-founder at The Music Fund that aims to democratize human creativity by applying machine learning and statistical techniques to develop a broader and fairer market for music royalties. Prior to the Music Fund, John was Data Science Director at the San Francisco office of Winton Group, a data-driven systematic investment company that had over $30 billion AUM. Previously, John was Co-founder and CTO at Knack. Knack analyzes gameplay data from mobile games to let people find their talent, broadcast their potential, and connect them with educational opportunities and jobs. Prior to Knack, John was Director of Engineering at Netflix where his roles included leading the Streaming Insights group, leading development of Netflix Instant Streaming for key platforms like the Nintendo Wii, and member of the patent committee.

Steve Stewart is the CEO & Co-Founder of Vezt Inc., a music-driven tech platform giving people the ability to participate in the royalties of their favorite songs. The blockchain-based app makes it easy for artists, writers, producers, labels and publishers to monetize their IP directly from music fans. Steve has more than 20 years of professional experience in the music, tech and television industries, and is the former personal manager of multi-platinum alternative rock band Stone Temple Pilots, managing their career from their inception through their fifth major label release on Atlantic Records. Under Steve’s management, the band’s worldwide record sales exceeded 25 million records, generating more than $450 million in gross revenues. Along the way, they were awarded a Grammy, an American Music Award, numerous Billboard Music Awards, MTV Music Video and MTV Movie Awards, and a number of Pollstar, ASCAP and BMI accolades. As CEO of Steve Stewart Management, he has negotiated and secured lucrative major label record and publishing contracts on behalf of approximately 20 recording artists with companies such as Sony Music, Warner Bros. Records, Atlantic Records, Capitol Records, Disney’s Hollywood Records, A&M Records, Geffen Records, Elektra Records, American Records, Maverick Records, EMI Music Publishing, Famous Music Publishing, Rondor Music, Warner Chappell Music Publishing and Universal Music Publishing.

Dale Melidosian has worked as in-house counsel for over 20 years with music publishing companies such as Bug/Windswept, Famous Music and Wixen Music. She has also worked as a film music business and legal affairs executive for film studio giant 21st Century Fox. Dale currently works as Vice President of Legal Affairs and Operations at Music Asset Management, Inc. where she is responsible for all of the business and legal affairs of the company, including, all deal negotiations and drafting, supervising all licensing and assisting the CEO with business strategy and new business development. She is also consulting for Vezt Inc. as their Head of Business Affairs where she assists the music tech start-up with all corporate and business and legal affairs matters, including, HR matters, drafting complex transactions, music agreements, employment agreements, terms of use and privacy policies.

Abby North is President of North Music Group, LLC. Abby began her music career as a songwriter/composer, then launched her first production music library almost 15 years ago. In 2005, Abby began working with her father-in-law Alex North's songs ("Unchained Melody") and film scores, including "Spartacus," "A Streetcar Names Desire," "Viva Zapata" and many others. After recognizing that many other heirs and legacy songwriters/composer were in search of boutique, hands-on administration, Abby started North Music Group, LLC. NMG now administers 80,000 works and is growing. Abby is involved in various cutting-edge tech working groups and music metadata initiatives.
