She has significant experience representing individuals and companies in internal investigations and responding to government inquiries, both criminal and civil. Linna has significant experience representing clients in the music industry, including successful representations for claims of copyright infringement, breach of contract, and other business and commercial disputes. She also has broad experience representing clients in cases involving a broad variety of business torts and contractual disputes. Her clients include music publishers, songwriters, production companies, fashion and apparel companies, other companies ranging from Fortune 500 companies to closely held businesses, as well as high net worth estates. Linna has an active white collar criminal defense and investigations practice. She has experience counseling clients in responding to DOJ, SEC, PCAOB, FTC, and NY AG inquiries and investigations, including an SEC investigation into alleged accounting irregularities relating to the largest civilian government contract in the United Kingdom’s history. She also has experience conducting internal investigations related to allegations of accounting fraud, wire fraud, and other related statutory violations. Linna has also represented and defended individuals charged with wire fraud, insider trading and other related violations in criminal matters. Linna also maintains an active pro bono practice. From 2017 to 2019, she was a member of the Associate Board of Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, the leading legal aid and education organization dedicated to New York artists and its arts and cultural organizations. Donna G. Cole-Brulé has been a music attorney for 30+ years and with Disney for 23 years. Donna is currently the Vice President, Music Business Affairs & Legal Counsel for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Production with responsibility for Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Blue Sky Animation, Disney Character Voices International (Studio Star Talent) and Walt Disney Theatrical Productions (including Disney Live Entertainment). Donna graduated from Stanford with a degree in Urban Studies and attended Hastings College of The Law in San Francisco where she was an editor and was published in COMM/ENT, Hastings Journal of Communications and Entertainment. Prior to Disney, Donna worked for Shea & Gould in the corporate arena of mergers and acquisitions and then after entering the music business Donna worked for CBS/Sony Records, Lopez, Gonzalez & Harrison, Left Bank Management and in private practice as a music attorney and personal manager. Liz McNicoll is currently a Senior Vice President of Music Legal & Business Affairs with Paramount Pictures, where she has worked for 20 years. She is responsible for negotiating music agreements for Paramount Pictures, Paramount Animation, Paramount Television and Marketing. She started her legal career in New York City at a large intellectual property firm handling primarily trademark, copyright and patent litigation. She considers herself fortunate to be hired in 1987 at a 5 person entertainment litigation boutique in New York headed by the well known music and entertainment trial lawyer Peter Parcher, where she specialized in representing clients primarily from the music world , such as many of her favorite artists the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen , Paul Simon and several others. She left New York for Los Angeles and spent 3 years in the music department of Walt Disney Pictures before going to Paramount in 2000. She is a graduate of Tufts University with a dual degree in Political Science and History and a 1982 graduate of Georgetown University law school where she served as an editor of the American Criminal Law Review. Laurie Soriano is a partner in the Entertainment Department of King, Holmes, Paterno & Soriano, LLP. She represents major musicians, recording artists, composers, songwriters, music supervisors, producers, record companies, publishing companies and various others in the music, entertainment and digital fields. She also represents a number of non-entertainment brands in their transactions that relate to the entertainment industry. Ms. Soriano focuses primarily on contract negotiations and troubleshooting for her clients and acts as the general legal advisor to a multitude of creative individuals and companies. Ms. Soriano started her career at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, where as a partner in the firm she served as the Head of the firm's Music Department and Co-Chair of the firm's Entertainment Industry Practice Group. Ms. Soriano has written and spoken extensively on entertainment and marketing topics. Ms. Soriano received undergraduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania (BA in English from the College of Arts and Sciences, and BS in Economics with concentration in marketing from the Wharton School of Business). In 1986, she received her law degree from the University of California, Davis, where she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the UC Davis Law Review and was admitted to the Order of the Coif. After graduation she served as a law clerk to Hon. Harry Pregerson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. |
