His father, songwriter Donny Lowery, scored big with songs like “Old Flames” (Alabama) and “Why Does It Have To Be Wrong or Right” (Restless Heart). After moving to Nashville, he began his career at Windswept Publishing, in the time honored tradition of working in the Tape Copy Room. From there, he was hired by Chris Oglesby to help build his new company, Oglesby Writer Management, which was part of 19 Entertainment, producers of American Idol. His next move was to the newly formed Cornman Music, owned by hit songwriter Brett James. Nate is the GM/VP of Creative for Cornman Music and has been working with Brett for the last 11 years. Nate currently lives in Nashville, TN with his wife Farrah, their puppy, Towee and son, Leo. LEANN PHELAN is a 25-year veteran Music Executive who currently runs multi-faceted LP Creative Management -an artist/songwriter/producer management, publishing and consulting company. Clients include UMPG Pop Artist/Producer/Songwriter Evan Cline and Endurance Music Group Pop Artist/Producer/Songwriter Natalie Madigan. LeAnn also runs LP Creative Therapy where she mentors, educates and inspires songwriters/artists/producers/creative execs via workshops and private sessions. The LPCT Workshops have been endorsed by the CMA, ASCAP, Change the Conversation and NSAI. Her workshop guests have been a virtual who’s who in the music industry. LeAnn has been invited to share her knowledge with prominent music schools such as Belmont, Berklee, University of Illinois and Vanderbilt as well as songwriter groups around the globe. Phelan was formerly Co-Head of ASCAP Nashville Creative where her passion was creating opportunities for Nashville's diverse creative community, including the GPS Project which is still going strong today. Phelan previously worked with 19 Entertainment as a Writer/Producer Manager and served as a preliminary judge for American Idol seasons 6-9. Before joining 19, Phelan was Sr. Director, A&R at Sony Nashville and VP at Combustion Music. She started in music publishing at Windswept in 1996. She began her career as a background vocalist/musician touring with Steve Winwood's Roll With It World Tour in 1988. LeAnn has managed and/or published ASCAP Song of Year and Grammy Award Winning Songwriter/Producer Jimmy Robbins, 8x ASCAP Songwriter of the year Ashley Gorley, BMI Songwriter of the year Luke Laird, SESAC Songwriter of the year Catt Gravitt, Grammy Award Winning Rock Band Kings of Leon, as well as #1 hit songwriters Gordie Sampson (Grammy Winner), JT Harding, Steve McEwan (Grammy Winner), Jerry Flowers, Blair Daly, Barry Dean, and Dan Couch. She has previously provided A&R services for Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe, Jessi Alexander and The Band Perry as well as Talent Scouting for American Idol and America’s Got Talent. LeAnn has received the following honors: Music City Milestone from her alma mater Belmont University, Billboards Most Powerful Women In Music 2015, Women in Music City 2017. LeAnn has proudly served on the boards of ACM, The Recording Academy and The Onsite Foundation. SHELBY YODER - A graduate of psychology from Ohio’s Miami University, Shelby Yoder moved to Nashville in 2013. For her first year and a half in Music City, Shelby gained experience in her field of study as a Mental Health Specialist at Vanderbilt’s Psychiatric Hospital. However, once enveloped in the Nashville community, she left the hospital for a publishing internship, where she first discovered the world of songwriters. From there, Shelby spent two and a half years with the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) where she was promoted to the Director of Professional Membership and Events. During this time, she was involved with the production of the NSAI/CMT Song Contest, Tin Pan South songwriters’ festival, NSAI’s 50th anniversary show at the Ryman Auditorium, quarterly #1 parties, and the annual NSAI Awards with the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Shelby is now Manager and Head of Nashville for Milk & Honey South and creative for Top 5 music publishing. She is the regional representative of more than 100 songwriters, producers, and artists. Clients include David Hodges, Dave Pittenger, Jamie Hartman, and more. Her success and comments have been featured in publications such as Billboard and Hits Magazine. She remains an advocate for mental health and is a certified yoga instructor. |
