Director, Client Solutions (Nielsen Music - NY)

The Client Solutions Director for Nielsen Music will be responsible for licensing and delivering Nielsen Music data solutions to music publisher and performing right organization clients, providing thought-leadership and strategic direction and supporting ongoing clients’ needs.




  • New business acquisition across the music publishing and performing rights sector
  • Account management and renewal of a multi-million dollar music industry client base in US
  • Provide professional client service from C-Suite to junior administrative staff
  • Technical and operational project management for contract execution
  • Navigate a multi-layered leadership organization, successfully working with technical team, operations, finance, legal and marketing
  • Train clients on Nielsen tools and systems and deliver industry updates
  • Maintain awareness of publishing and PRO business developments and develop thought leadership
  • Contribute to Nielsen strategy for music publishing and performing rights sector
  • Ideally based in New York, and will consider LA and Nashville
  • Travel required between New York, Nashville and Los Angeles




  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experienced music industry professional, ideally 7+ years’ experience at a PRO or publisher
  • Solid experience of deal execution, contract structure and negotiation
  • Familiarity with music data and research methodologies
  • Comfortable with presenting and public speaking
  • Technical experience and familiarity with music metadata for both recordings and works
  • Self-directed and motivated. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and work flexibly and fast in a changing environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to travel as necessary
  • Friendly, dynamic, great networker and comfortable operating at all levels
