Job:  Coordinator, Music Admin & Royalties


A full service music publishing company seeks an organized, motivated and energetic individual to work in a talented team environment.  Working under direction will assist in various aspects of music administration and royalties, including copyright registration, claims and royalty statement preparation.

Job Description:

-        Assist in the copyright intake process by maintaining internal tracking documents as clients submit new cue sheets & catalogues for registration

-        Review various production materials and cue sheets as they arrive from clients

-        Compile documentation for new clients and send it to our global partners for registration

-        Collaborate with other staff members, clients, and foreign PRO’s to help resolve global copyright inquiries and counterclaims as they arise

-        Research and compile vital information needed for royalty claims process, i.e. air dates, alternate production titles, station rates, and royalties received to date

-        Utilize global copyright databases to find potential incorrect registrations that need to be amended on behalf of new clients and existing clients

-        Complete manual registrations at societies when needed

-        Scan and file away incoming royalty checks and statements

-        Assist with royalty statement processing and matching to prepare for royalty distributions

-        Work on special projects as needed

-        Answer telephones and perform other administration support as needed

The Ideal Candidate:

-        Has a college degree in Business, Finance or Music, or at least 1 to 2 years relevant experience

-        Possesses an interest in music administration, specifically relating to copyright and royalties

-        Is detail-oriented, organized, a quick learner, able to multitask and able to meet deadlines

-        Exhibits excellent research skills and thinks outside of the box

-        Works well under direction, but can also work independently

-        Has a working knowledge of Excel

-        Has excellent written and oral communication skills

-        Experience with the Counterpoint Music Maestro software system a plus
