Assistant, Catalogue Research and Marketing (LA)

Your Mission at BMG

Your primary mission is researching BMG’s catalogue and logging metadata information pertinent to pitching our catalogue for TV/Film opportunities, preparing audio assets for ingestion and creating marketing materials such as themed playlists and samplers. Additional responsibilities will include researching charting titles, data entry, music search support as well as maintenance of our film score database.


Your Profile

You have an interest in music publishing, synch and marketing. You have familiarity with a variety of music genres and digital audio file formats. You are comfortable working in a team and are a self-starter. Additionally, your time management skills allow you to meet deadlines easily. You have exceptional attention to detail and the ability to track and follow through on multiple concurrent projects to completion.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Research, listen and log releases, genre, tempo and other pertinent information to our internal music database.
  • Assist with charts (Soundscan/Billboard) research and data entry.
  • Film and TV score catalogue’s database maintenance.
  • Support our synch teams globally by sourcing songs for specific music searches.
  • Prepare audio assets for ingestion.
  • Create a variety of music playlists and samplers
  • Develop digital marketing campaigns.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Music Business and Management or related.
  • Basic understanding of Music Publishing and Synch.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of music production software a plus (Pro Tools, etc.).
  • Previous experience organizing/managing a music library a plus.
