Director of Operations (LA)

Spirit Production Music is currently seeking a Director of Operations to join our team in Studio City, CA. At Spirit Production Music, we strive to provide our clients with a wide range of extraordinary music products and services. The Director of Operations’ responsibilities will include:


  • Oversee general operations of Spirit Production Music, including licensing, international sub-publisher relations and catalog management
  • Draft, prepare and issue all music licenses and company agreements, as well as any necessary addendums and amendments
  • Track outstanding licenses and collect signatures when necessary
  • Ensure proper filing (both digital and physical) of agreements, invoices, etc. 
  • Maintain company licensing database in order to track signatures, payments, and expiration of terms
  • Provide support to clients and answer general licensing inquires in a timely manner
  • Work closely with the Data Management team and oversee the integration of new artists and catalogs, including but not limited to audio/data deliverables, promotional material, etc.
  • Manage client privileges on the SourceAudio website and maintain up-to-date client access profiles
  • Regularly interface with international sub-publishers to ensure proper delivery of music, copyright data, promotional material, etc.
  • Build new sub-publisher relationships in emerging territories
  • Collaborate with Royalties team to monitor sub-publisher licensing performance over time and prepare questions/responses regarding variances and upcoming opportunities worldwide
  • Oversee social media and marketing for Spirit Production Music
  • Coordinate with other departments including Royalties, Accounting, Data Management and Sales on a regular basis
  • Report directly to CEO and senior management
  • Lead weekly licensing and general operations meeting with senior management



  • Requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience in music licensing and at least five (5) years of experience within the music industry 
  • BA required
  • Knowledge of music licensing, including the industry terminology and language used to negotiate the material deal points of a license agreement
  • Knowledge of copyright as it relates to the music industry
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently
  • Excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented, organized, timely and accurate
  • Ability to lead and manage a team
