Director of Music Content Management (LA)

We are looking for Head of Music Content Management to manage the strategy of in-app music content management, including the creation and production of music, playlist curation, and artist partnerships management.



  • Lead the Music Content Management team to improve the overall music content ecosystem of the product 
  • Observe, follow and predict the trends in the music industry, and work closely with the Licensing team for music content acquisitions opportunities 
  • Make the strategic plan for in-app music operation practice including music database management, recommendations, and playlist curation for users 
  • Lead the partnerships building and maintenance with established and emerging artists and identify collaboration opportunities 
  • Promote, create, and produce original music for the product through the collaboration with the music artists 
  • Work closely with the Product Operations team to coordinate music content campaigns and initiatives



  • 8+ years experience in music-related roles, comprehensive understanding of the music industry, with a focus on trending genres and artists
  • Managerial and leadership experience with successful track record, strong organizational, analytical, strategic thinking skills
  • Superior relationship building skills and established connections with artist networks necessary to encourage the growth of the product’s music portfolio
  • Data-driven mindset and strong analytical skills, able to interpret data, identify problems, and come up with constructive solutions
  • Deep understanding with internet industry, and able to critically breakdown the details of the industry's inefficiencies/gap and provide insightful recommendations
  • Deep understanding of the creative process of music creation from composition to production
  • Experience with managing music campaigns and initiatives from conception to completion
  • Basic knowledge of music licensing

  • Experience working with international partners at different time zones

  • Understanding of the landscape and new developments in new media, tech and entertainment industry

  • Experience working in a fast-changing, hands-on work environment
