Broadcast and Media Rights Manager (Songtrust) (NY)

Our catalog consists of over 1,000,000 songs that have been performed and recorded by premiere artists.

Songtrust is the world's largest global royalty collection service and publishing administrator, enabling over 150,000 songwriters and over 20,000 publishers to collect their publishing royalties worldwide for over 1,000,000 copyrights. Our industry-leading online solutions help songwriters, artists, managers, labels and publishers simplify music rights management including the administration of music publishing assets, performing rights, and digital licensing.   

Our team is looking for a Broadcast and Media Manager. You will be working with our Rights Management Operations team and in-house Development team on a range of projects that help our TV and Film-focused songwriters and publishers collect royalties globally. This position requires knowledge of how audiovisual copyrights are managed and registered with global collection societies around the world. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience (preferably 5+ years) working in a boutique music publisher or in the TV/Film department for a publisher. If you want the opportunity to build a practice around audiovisual rights management, then this is the place for you.

Responsibilities: 

  • At  least 3 years international music publishing experience, preferably working in an administrative and client-facing role.
  • Specifically, 2 years + experience of international film/TV royalty collections.
  • Direct experience of communication with international collection societies regarding registration and income tracking enquiries.
  • Familiar with cue sheets and how to ensure that they are correct and properly linked to the writer/publisher.
  • An independent individual who is prepared to research client activities via sources such as IMDB, Boxoffice Mojo to keep up to date with new titles, film release/broadcast dates, releasing territories, foreign titles.
