Copyright Administration and Licensing Coordinator (NYC)

Spirit Music Group is looking for a full-time Copyright Administration and Licensing Coordinator to assist the Copyright Department with the day-to-day general administrative tasks including but not limited to new song entry/updates, society registrations, copyright inquiries and mechanical licensing. 
 
Note: Due to COVID, we are currently operating via WFH, but are planning to re-open the office in the near future.
 
Key Responsibilities:
• Database maintenance – enter new works and update songs.
• Register works with PROs, MROs & DMPs via CWR and other accepted formats.
• Ingest returned ACK files into database.
• Review and resolve registration issues (conflicts, rejections & discrepancies).
• Ensure proper setup and/or updates of songs at PROs/MROs.
• Perform catalog inquiries, song split confirmations & provide publishing credits to PROs, MROs, labels, or potential licensees.
• Prepare copyright registrations to US Copyright Office.
• Agreement detail submissions/notifications to relevant PROs for all new deals.
• Confirm publishing splits and issue label copy.
• Answer internal and external inquiries relating to our copyrights.
• Assist with the shared general departmental email inbox by forwarding relevant requests to appropriate internal contacts.
• Miscellaneous / Special Projects as assigned by supervisor or upper-management
 
Qualifications:
• 1-2 years’ experience in music publishing, copyright administration, mechanical licensing and/or a related field
• Knowledge of MusicMaestro preferred
• Familiarity with MDX a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience working with large data sets
• Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure in a deadline-oriented environment.
• Outstanding attention to detail and to organization.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.
• Capacity to communicate comfortably with internal and external partners in a professional manner
