Administration Coordinator (LA)

Seeking Administration Coordinator at Position Music, Burbank, CA

Position Music is an independent publisher, record label and management firm, redefining what it means to be a music company.  Established in 1999 and still led by our founder Tyler Bacon,  Position Music boasts a multinational presence and a continually growing staff.   As experts in music licensing and synchronization, marketing,  A&R, and artist management, we are helping shape a new era in the industry with our innovative, full-service, artist-centric approach. 


Position is seeking a full time Administration Coordinator based in Los Angeles. Reporting directly to the VP, Head of Administration, in this role you will be involved in the day-to-day machinations of a music publisher and record label.


Administration Coordinator’s responsibilities will include:

  • Sourcing and archiving royalty statements
  • Importing and processing royalty statements 
  • Data entry
  • Working hand in hand with finance on cash reconciliation against royalty statements
  • Working with Licensing team in auditing and storing cue sheets
  • Working with A&R admin team in the creation and storage of metadata
  • Working with Distribution team in preparing music to be delivered to partners
  • Obtaining payment information from vendors, songwriters, and artists
  • From time to time there will be various projects for Copyright department
  • Pulling and creating reports for A&R, Marketing, Synch and Copyright departments

The ideal candidate:

  • Is passionate about working in the music industry
  • Has prior experience working in or around music publishing or a record label
  • Is extremely detail oriented
  • Is able to work individually or as part of a team
  • Has the ability to prioritize and process a high volume of work
  • Is knowledgeable about various types of royalties compositions and sound recordings generate 
  • Understands the basic concepts of mechanical and synchronization licensing
  • Has excellent written communication skills
  • Is proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
