Copyright Administrator (NY)

TRO Essex Music Group is an international music publishing company representing a large catalog of songwriters and artists in every genre in the industry. The Copyright Department is the heart of our team, responsible for developing, promoting and protecting our songwriters and their works.

 
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to) managing all administrative aspects of the department, as well as more detailed project management and independent projects on various levels. Requires a hard-working, flexible, proactive, organized and independent person who is willing to engage in typical administrative/clerical duties as well as more complex project work related to all aspects of the record-making process
 
Responsibilities
 
· Provide administrative and office support activities for including but not limited to:
 
· Answer and screen telephone calls and receive and direct visitors
 
· Prepare written correspondence and communicate internally and to third parties (studios, clients, lawyers, etc.)
 
· Process packages and mail
 
· Log and respond to demo submissions
 
· Prepare pitch submissions
 
· Review of unmatched and disputed works on various DSP platforms
 
· Liaison with the US Copyright Office
 
· Maintain works registration at collection societies (ASCAP, BMI, MLC)
 
· Compile, manage and keep track of all music (demos, manuscripts, etc.) in Box or other appropriate systems
 
· Assemble all copy and credits for album releases
 
· Use online tools to research and analyze data
 
· File audio content and artist info (lyrics, credits, tour schedules, etc.)
 
· Oversee general office supplies (office supplies, drinks, CD stock, etc.)
 
About you:
 
· 0 - 2 years of administrative experience
 
· Strong understanding of recording, production and creative side of business
 
· Work independently and take initiative
 
· Excellent verbal and written communication and inter-personal skills
 
· Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
 
· Handle confidential matters appropriately and with discretion
 
· Strong attention to detail
 
· Ability to prioritize with appropriate urgency
 
· Ability to pinpoint problems and identify solutions
 
· Professionally interface with all levels of the organization, clients and third party licensees
 
· Accurate filing and maintenance of music
 
· Experience or working knowledge of music industry
