Manager, Licensing & Contracts


Angry Mob Music is seeking candidates for the position of Manager, Licensing & Contracts. This role is responsible for the drafting and issuance of synchronization and mechanical licensing contracts and invoices for all sync and mechanical deals agreed by Angry Mob Music across all media types including television, film, advertising, video games and retail record releases, as well as ad hoc contract projects including the maintenance of titles on songwriter contracts.

       The Job

  • Review deal terms with the sync team to check for accuracy and compatibility with license templates and invoicing process and data integrity.

  • Liaise with outside legal counsel where required on any comments, requested amendments and issues with license contracts.

  • Regular review and update of sync license process to optimize workflows.

  • Send sync licenses to clients, fielding questions and comments regarding final paperwork, and making necessary revisions to final paperwork with review from legal counsel when required.

  • Upload licenses to electronic signature platform and proactively track signatures from all parties.

  • Ensure the internal archive of fully executed licenses is maintained and accessible.

  • Build relationships with key counterparts at licensees.

  • Maintain up to date awareness of new media types and definitions as they emerge.

  • Support and assist with the set up of new clients in the company accounting system.

  • Communicate invoice requests to the accounting team or where new vendor forms and other paperwork is required.

  • Send invoices to clients along with licenses.

  • Handle any initial questions from clients relating to invoices and payment.

  • Assist the accounting team with inquiries regarding open invoices so that they can follow up for invoice settlement proactively.

  • Maintain and keep current the schedule of titles for all writer contracts; prepare and send schedule amendments to writers for electronic signature as required.

    The Ideal Candidate
  • 2 to 3 years experience in a music or media (advertising, film or tv) license administration role

  • Experience with drafting and customizing license agreements

  • Strong negotiation skills and attention to detail

  • An ability to remain organized and effectively prioritize with an elevated work volume in a remote/hybrid environment

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships both internally and externally with ease

  • A desire to be an integral member of a dedicated team in a boutique and growing music company

  • Strong knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office required.

  • It would be a plus if you have a pre-law, law or business background.
