Grammy-Winning Artist Warren Haynes to Present AIMP New York Chapter Indie Award to Atlas Music Publishing at December 4th Holiday Party
New York, NY (November 12, 2019) – The New York Chapter of the Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP) will welcome Grammy Award-winning artist Warren Haynes for a special appearance at the annual “AIMP NYC Holiday Party and Indie Award Presentation“ on December 4th at 5:30pm at the National Arts Club in New York City. Haynes — who has been a member of iconic rock groups Gov’t Mule, The Allman Brothers Band, and The Dead — will present the prestigious 2019 New York Chapter Indie Award to Rich Stumpf and Phil Cialdella of Atlas Music Publishing, which represents Haynes. Also on hand will be former Cherry Lane Music CEO Peter Primont, who will introduce the recipients, as well as Atlas-signed legendary producer/DJ Dan the Automator, who will DJ the event. Named one of Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time,” Warren Haynes is recognized as a prolific musician and a cornerstone of the American music landscape. He has brought his virtuosic artistry to The Allman Brothers Band, Gov’t Mule, and The Dead, leading to millions of album and track sales and thousands of live shows. A prodigious live musician, his solo albums and live performances with The Warren Haynes Band and Ashes and Dust Band have drawn large crowds around the globe. Steeped in blues, soul, and Southern rock traditions, Haynes is lauded for his ability to effortlessly cross-pollinate genres as he continues to collaborate with a wide array of fellow musicians, from legacy icons to today’s most promising young artists. Haynes’ band Gov’t Mule, an ensemble known for their flexible live interplay, have recorded 10 studio albums, numerous live albums, and continue to produce new music and tour. With a vast reservoir of songs, Haynes is celebrated as one of music’s most treasured storytellers. “With nearly four decades as a songwriter, guitarist, and performer in some of the biggest rock bands of all time, not to mention his career as a solo artist, Warren Haynes is a true industry veteran who has found his home with Atlas Music Publishing,” said Alisa Coleman, President of the AIMP New York Chapter. “We can think of no one better to honor Rich, Phil, and Atlas Music Publishing for their many contributions to independent music publishers and songwriters over the years.” “I’m honored to be presenting Rich and Phil with the AIMP Indie Award. Everyone at Atlas Music Publishing has been extremely supportive of me and my music. Their understanding of the needs of songwriters is, in my experience, unparalleled,” said Warren Haynes. “They are deeply deserving of this honor, and I’m proud to be the one handing it to them.”
The AIMP New York Chapter Indie Award recognizes individuals and organizations that have contributed significantly to the independent music publishing industry. Past winners include Reservoir Media, Julie Menin of the New York Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MoME), U.S. Congressman Jerrold Nadler, Justin Kalifowitz of Downtown Music Publishing, Martin Mills and Andy Heath of Beggars Group, Paul Williams of ASCAP, John LoFrumento of ASCAP, Michael Brettler of Shapiro Bernstein & Co., Valerie Simpson, Phil Ramone of Master Music Maker, and David Israelite of the NMPA.
