  • If you haven't already, make sure to register for our 2nd annual AIMP Indie Music Publishing Summit on June 12th, expanded to a full day this year.  We'll see you in NY!
  • The House Judiciary Committee unanimously passes the Music Modernization Act as it moves on to the full House.  
  • Score: The Podcast, a podcast devoted to film, TV and video game composers, launched April 3 with composer John Debney.  The team behind 2017’s Score: A Film Music Documentary created the podcast, which will be hosted by Robert Kraft, former president of Fox Music, and journalist Kenny Holmes.
  • Tresóna and Orchestras announce a landmark industry agreement covering custom arrangements and sheet music rentals.  Read more about it here.  
  • Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Rumours,’ Run-DMC’s ‘Raising Hell,’ ‘My Girl,’ and more are named to the Library of Congress’ Registry.  
  • ASCAP - Multi-Platinum hitmaker Desmond Child is to be honored with the prestigious ASCAP Founders Award at the April 23rd ASCAP Pop Music Awards in Los Angeles.    
  • BMI President and CEO Mike O’Neill wrote an op-ed in Billboard applauding the Department of Justice’s decision not to appeal the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit’s ruling on fractional licensing.  
  • SESAC affiliate Neil Diamond is to receive the prestigious Johnny Mercer Award, as announced by the The Songwriters Hall of Fame, the organization’s highest honor, at the 49th Annual Induction and Awards Dinner on June 14th.  
  • SACEM has announced the launch of a new rights body in Polynesia called SACEM Polynesia.  It will license song rights to broadcasters and public places using music in the region.
