Highlights included keynotes from legendary songwriter Diane Warren, U.S. Register of Copyrights Karyn Temple, and music supervisor Sue Jacobs.
  • On June 12, our first-ever International Forum took place, a breakfast-to-noon event that brought AIMP Premier members closer to leaders in the international music industry, including Eric Baptiste, CEO of SOCAN, JioSaavn, John Phelan, Director General of the ICMP, Paul Clements, CEO of MPA Group, Caroline Champarnaud, International Development Director at SACEM, Goetz von Einem, Managing Director GSA of peermusic; and Roberto Neri, SVP and Head of European Business Development at DMP UK.  To read more about the incredible event, check out this article in American Songwriter
  • AIMP National Chair and L.A. Chapter President Teri Nelson-Carpenter represented the organization at this year's MIDEM 2019, which took place in Cannes, France, from June 4-7. While there, the AIMP came together with the IMPF to host a joint breakfast event on June 5, and Teri also hosted an International Women's Dinner at La Pizza on June 3rd to welcome women in the industry from all around the world to Cannes, crafting the perfect environment to build new relationships and meet new and old faces.
  • Further, Teri spoke on the panel "Copyright Legislation: What’s Next?" discussing the most recent legislative developments in the United States, including the Music Modernization Act. She also engaged in a conversation with her European peers on the European Copyright Directive and how the new legislation will be adopted to ensure success, how it will affect international markets, and what is to come. Teri was joined by Patrick Charnley of the IFPI, Chris Harrison of Harrison PLLC, John Phelan of the ICMP, Helen Smith of IMPALA, and moderator Emmanuel Legrand. You can watch the panel here.
