  • Reservoir was named to Billboard’s list of Top 10 Music Publishers of 2021 by Global Revenue, according to the outlet's report. The article highlighted Reservoir’s public debut on the NASDAQ in the summer of 2021, as well as key acquisitions throughout the year, including the company’s publishing deal with music icon Joni Mitchell. In outlining Reservoir’s momentum for 2022 thus far, Billboard emphasized the acquisition of the producer catalog of Buddy Cannon, a longtime collaborator with Kenny Chesney, as well as the extension of a deal with hit songwriter Ali Tamposi. • UK collecting society PRS held its Annual General Meeting in London last month, which included the election of eight members to the society’s Council, four writers and four publishers.  Despite various efforts to increase the diversity of the organisation’s leadership, the election didn’t do much to enhance the diversity of its Council, which – the Music Managers Forum said yesterday – was mainly because of an “outmoded and outdated system of governance”.  The writers elected to the Council yesterday included Hannah Peel, Tom Gray, Crispin Hunt and Philip Pope. On the publisher side, the four members elected to the Council were Nigel Gilroy from the Wise Music Group, Daniel Lang from Warner Chappell Music, John Minch from Concord, and Richard Paine from Faber Music.  Read more here

  • BMI partnered with iHeartRadio in the southeastern coast of Florida to present the 1st Annual Treasure Coast Songwriters Festival featuring 16 BMI songwriters performing at 3 local venues that have been long time BMI licensees. • SESAC and its employees support the Ukrainian people and the Ukrainian creative community in their valiant struggle for freedom.  As an initial token of their support, they’ve donated $100,000 to support CreatorsforUkraine, a collective of CMOs, PROs and other organizations working together to provide financial support to Ukrainian creators, songwriters and composers during this challenging time.  They’re seeking ways to do more in coming weeks and want to inspire other companies and organizations in the creative community to do whatever they are able to support the Ukrainian creative community at this critical time.  Read more about their efforts here
