January News
  • The new Chief Executive of PRS for Music, Andrea Martin, will speak during our Global Music Publishing Summit at the 3 West Club in New York (June 8-10). Member-only pre-sales have wrapped up, and early bird tickets are now available to the public. Rates go up on March 1, so don't miss out on this deal! • In honor of Linda Komorsky Liker, our LA Chapter is pleased to offer their first scholarship award to a qualified music business student beginning Fall, 2020.  Linda was an amazing music publishing executive and advisor who left us all too soon due to an unfortunate accident.  She was a past President of our own AIMP and a past Secretary to the California Copyright Conference (CCC).  She also taught a 10-week lecture series on music publishing at UCLE which was always well attended.  Click here for more info.
  • Concord Music Publishing has acquired a stake in the Pulse Music Group, and as a result will form an exclusive joint venture that will see the Pulse brand continuing with funding by Concord, which will also administer its new partner's catalog and future signings.  Click here to learn more.
  • ASCAP congratulates the legendary lyricist Bernie Taupin on his Best Original Song Golden Globe, for “(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again,” co-written with his longtime songwriting partner, Elton John. The upbeat anthem was the sole original song from Rocketman, the acclaimed biopic based on John’s life.  Click here to read more.
  • BMI congratulates Golden Globes winners Hildur Guðnadóttir, who made history by becoming the first solo woman to win Best Original Score for her work in Joker, and Elton John (PRS), who took home the trophy for Best Original Song with “I’m Gonna Love Me Again” from Rocketman.  Click here to read more.
  • SESAC stands with songwriters and composers who make unique and irreplaceable contributions to film and television. They deserve to be paid fairly for their work. Discovery’s threat to their livelihood undermines the very fabric of the creative community.  Click here to read more.
